BLUES EARN OUA SILVER

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's tennis team claimed their fourth consecutive silver medal, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Western Mustangs in the gold-medal match at the 2019 OUA championships, October 11-13, at Mayfair Park in Markham, Ont.

Toronto topped the York Lions 7-0 in semifinal action on Day 1 to book their ticket to the championship final.

The Mustangs took 2-of-3 doubles matches to earn a single point. Michael Chu and Rassam Yazdi won the No. 3 match, 8-7 (7-5) for the Blues.  Toronto wins were registered by Nathan Wong at the No. 3 spot, 7-5, 7-5 and rookie standout Rassam Yazdi in the No. 4 match, 6-3, 6-2.

Wong, as well as Blues No. 1 player Sasha Obucina, were named OUA all-stars.
