The No. 9 University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team were defeated by the No. 2 Carleton Ravens, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon (Oct 13) at Varsity Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Ravens put the pressure on the Blues early. Scott Mazzotta found the back of the net to give Carleton the early lead. They would continue to burden Blues goalkeeper Stefan Dusciuc but he would shut the door and make seven saves in the half. The Blues headed into halftime down by one.
Carleton would strike early again in the second half, with a goal from Stefan Karajovanic. The Ravens scored again in the 64th minute to push their lead to three. Toronto would try to get plays going but were shut down by the Carleton defence. Jacob Doroszkiewicz found the back of the net in stoppage time but the Ravens headed home with the win.
