MEN’S LACROSSE DROPS ROAD DECISION TO BADGERS

The Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team traveled to St. Catharines, Ont., on Friday, October 11 to take on the first-place Brock Badgers.  The Badgers had taken the first contest between the two teams back in September and the Blues were looking to take momentum into the game after a strong game against Western the previous weekend.  Despite a good start in this game, the Badgers prevailed, 15-4.

Brock opened with three consecutive goals to lead 3-0 after the first quarter.

Toronto came back with two of their own to start the second quarter on markers by attack Jason Barnable and middie Aidan Guld, both assisted by attack AJ Masson.  Toronto took an unfortunate three-minute penalty late in the period and Brock took advantage, scoring three times while the Blues were shorthanded and added a fourth goal to lead 7-2 at the half.

Toronto again responded with the first two goals of the third quarter.  Attack Darren Elliott (assisted by Masson) and Masson (assisted by Justin Morandin) scored for the Blues.  Brock was relentless however and scored six goals in the quarter to lead 13-4 after three.

The Badgers added two more goals in the fourth quarter to win 15-4.

The Blues next take on the Laurentian Voyageurs on Sunday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m., at Varsity Stadium.
