The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team dropped a 61-44 decision to the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday night (Jan. 19) at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
TORONTO STATS: For the second straight game, third-year forward Nada Radonjic led the way for Toronto with a team-high 15 points and eight rebounds. Ariana Sider chipped in with 11 points, nine boards and three steals in the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues and Voyageurs exchanged buckets and it ended with the road team up 17-13 after the first quarter. Radonjic registered seven of her nine first-half points in the second, but Toronto was still down by four, 29-25, at halftime.
The Voyageurs came out with a couple quick baskets to extend their lead to 43-35 heading into the final quarter. The Blues weren't able to recover the rest of the way.
UP NEXT:Â The Blues travel to the nation's capital to face off against the No. 8 Carleton Ravens on Friday night (Jan. 25) in Ottawa, Ont. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
