The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team opened their 2018 regular season with a 1-1 draw against the Trent Excalibur on Saturday, August 25 at Varsity Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Fourth-year striker
Natasha Klasios opened the scoring with a wide-angled shot in the 22nd minute and the Blues took a 1-0 lead into the half. Trent evened the score as Violet Hipkin found the back of the net in the 52nd minute. Third-year goalkeeper Vanna Staggolis made six saves on the day.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues host the UOIT Ridgebacks tomorrow, Sunday, August 26, at Varsity Stadium. The match is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
