BLUES END REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS AT YORK

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the York Lions on Friday, February 16 at Canlan Ice Sports.
 
The Blues finish the regular season with a 13-0-9-2 record in sixth place in the OUA standings. Toronto awaits the results of tomorrow's games to determine their first-round playoff opponent.  
 
The Lions opened the scoring late in the first period with a goal off the stick of Christina Chin and held that one-goal advantage at the first intermission.
 
York extended their lead to two as Chelsea Tucker found the back of the net with less than five minutes remaining in the second frame.
 
The Blues finally got on the board 3:27 into the third period as Jessica Robichaud netted her fifth goal of the season on the powerplay.
 
The Lions responded though as Erran Lee scored less than two minutes later to restore the two-goal advantage.
 
Third-year Blues netminder Valencia Yordanov posted 11 saves in the loss.
