BLUES TO BATTLE REDMEN IN BAGGATAWAY QUARTER-FINAL FRIDAY

The University of Toronto is the proud host of the 2018 Baggataway Cup, the national championship tournament for the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA), November 9-11, at Varsity Stadium.

As the hosts, the Varsity Blues will take on the McGill Redmen in quarter-final action this Friday night at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in advance here.

Can't make it to Toronto? All five games of the Baggataway Cup will be streamed live on Lacrosse-TV.com.

This weekend will mark the first time that Toronto has hosted the Baggataway Cup, now in its 34th season.

Friday night's tilt versus the Redmen also marks the first time the Varsity Blues has hosted a playoff game since 2011 and the first time the two teams have met since 2011 when U of T played in the CUFLA East division.

The Blues are led by fourth-year attack Jason Barnable. The Whitby, Ont., native finished the regular season ranked first in the CUFLA West division in assists (22) and fourth in total points (35) over eight games played.

First-year middie Nick Pison topped Toronto in goals scored during the regular season, ranking fourth in the CUFLA West division with 24 goals in nine games. Sophomore attack Darren Elliott provided solid secondary scoring with 18 goals in 10 games.
