The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team dropped a 95-73 decision to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night (Nov. 3) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

Third-year guard Ariana Sider led U of T in her first start as a Varsity Blue. The former Simon Fraser Clan player went 6-for-10 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line en route to a team-high 15 points. She also added three boards and three assists on the night.

Fourth-year forward Sarah Bennett recorded 10 points and four boards, while veteran Keyira Parkes had nine points. Mahal De La Durantaye added five points and a team-high eight boards in the loss.

Five Gryphons hit double digits on the night. Ivana Vujadinovic led all players with 17 points, while Julia Kokonis had 16 points in the win.

UP NEXT: The Blues return to action next Friday, November 9 as they travel to Waterloo, Ont., to take on the Laurier Golden Hawks. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
