First-year guard Lauren Boers notched a season-high 19 points in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team to an 82-59 victory over the Western Mustangs on Friday, November 23 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

TORONTO STATS: Boers went 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and added three boards and one assist. Fourth-year guard Keyira Parkes tallied 12 points, four rebounds and two assists, while third-year forward Nada Radonjic had 12 points, three reounds, two assists and one steal in the victory.

Veteran forward Charlotte Collyer recorded nine points and four boards, while rookie Jessica Muha had eight points and a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Christine Jurcau also tallied nine points on the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Muha and Collyer paced the Blues with four and five points, respectively, as Toronto got out to a 17-10 lead after the first quarter. Boers then took charge, going 4-for-6 from beyond the arc en route to 14 second-quarter points. Radonjic chipped in with eight points in the second frame as Toronto took a 48-25 lead into halftime.

U of T outscored Western 21-13 in the third quarter and led by 31 points (69-38) heading into the final frame. The Mustangs rallied and outscored Toronto for the first time in the game, but it was too little, too late as the Blues notched their second win of the season.

UP NEXT: The Blues host the Windsor Lancers tomorrow night (Nov. 24) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
