WOMEN’S TENNIS ADVANCES TO FINAL WITH VICTORY OVER YORK

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team advanced to the finals as they took down York 6-1 on Day 2 of the OUA championships at Mayfair East.

The women will battle the top seed Western Mustangs in the finals tomorrow (Oct. 6) at 1 p.m.

Samar Qaedizadeh led the Blues with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 3 singles spot, while also winning the No. 1 doubles match with veteran Mara Stroe. Adelaida Allkhverdiyeva won her singles match in the No. 2 spot 7-6 (5), 6-1, and Alara Demirag followed it up with a 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles match.
