WOMEN’S TENNIS TOPS WARRIORS IN OUA QUARTER-FINALS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Day 1 of the OUA championships at Mayfair East.

With the win, the Blues advance to the semifinals and will take on the York Lions tomorrow (Oct. 6) at 1 p.m.

Samar Qaedizadeh led the Blues with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 2 singles spot, while also winning the No. 2 doubles match with veteran Cecelia Pye. Alara Demirag took the No. 3 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, and paired up with Adelaida Allkhverdiyeva to take the No. 1 doubles match 8-4.
