The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team tied the Laurentian Voyageurs 2-2 in their final game of the regular season on Sunday, October 21 at Varsity Stadium.
Toronto finishes the regular season 5-6-5 (W-L-T) and secures an OUA playoff berth.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Captain Chelsea Cheung opened the scoring in the 14th minute, sliding one past Voyageurs keeper Caitlin McNamara.
Nine minutes later, it was Cheung again – this time from 30 yards out, giving the Blues a 2-0 lead.
Laurentian answered back in the 48th minute when Mia De Gasperis scored, making it 2-1.
Kylie Swain came in with the equalizer for the Voyageurs in the 71st minute.
Third-year Blues keeper Vanna Staggolis notched six saves in the tie.
UP NEXT: The OUA playoffs are underway as of Wednesday (Oct. 24). The Blues will travel to Ottawa to take on the Carleton Ravens on Wednesday night.
