The Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team traveled to Brock University on Saturday, October 20th looking to break a four-game losing streak. However, the Badgers came away with a 15-4 victory.
Despite some excellent play from goalie Matt Frola, Brock jumped out to a two-goal lead before Toronto answered on a goal by Nick Pison, assisted by Sean Power. Brock would score another three goals in the quarter to lead 5-1 after the first.
Toronto had trouble clearing the ball from its end and this continued in the second quarter as the Badgers converted Toronto turnovers into scoring opportunities to go up by another four goals to lead 9-1 at the half.
Despite the Blues defence playing well, they couldn't overcome a large deficit in the time of possession. The Toronto offence could not sustain any lengthy possessions in the Brock defensive zone. The Badgers scored four more times in the frame to a single Toronto goal by attack AJ Masson. The score after three quarters was 13-2 for Brock.
Toronto played the home team even in the fourth quarter, both teams scoring twice. Masson had his second of the game while attack Darren Elliott had the other, assisted by Davis Bottomley.
The Blues return to action on Friday night, October 26th at McMaster University.
