BLUES COME UP SHORT VS LANCERS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (21-25, 27-25, 21-25, 20-25) decision to the Windsor Lancers on Friday, January 12 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
 
The teeter totter match puts the Blues at 3-4 in their season thus far, while the Lancers advance to 6-2.
 
Second-year outside hitters Nick Trewern and Alex Barnes led the Blues with 12 points apiece on the night. Trewern notched 12 kills and six digs, while Barnes had 12 kills and two digs in the loss.
 
Martin Kosic added 11 points on five kills and six blocks, while fifth-year veteran Zia Karim had nine points and a team-high nine digs.
 
Second-year setter Jordan Figueira tallied 46 assists and added six digs and three blocks.
 
Lancers Pierce Johnson lead all players with 20 points from 18 kills and two blocks.
 
The Blues return to the court tomorrow night as they head to Mattamy Athletic Centre to take on the Ryerson Rams. Opening serve is scheduled for 8 p.m.
