GOLD PICKS UP BRONZE AT MACCABIAH GAMES

University of Toronto Varsity Blues swimmer Josh Gold earned a bronze medal representing Canada in the 200m butterfly at the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Delivering a personal best time of 2:03.69, Gold improved on previous marks by a significant margin illustrating growth as he enters his fourth season with the Varsity Blues this fall.

"This is a great accomplishment for Josh," said U of T swim team head coach Byron MacDonald. "Josh's improvement over the past 12 months is nothing short of amazing and it is all due to his increased vigilance and consistency - both in his training and rehabbing from previous injuries."

Gold was awarded the most improved Varsity Blue swimmer award this recent season.

The Peace and Conlfict Studies, and European Studies double-major also placed fifth in the 100m butterfly posting a time of 56.00 and will later compete in the 50m freestyle event.
