BLUES EDGED BY LIONS IN EXHIBITION ACTION

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a narrow 2-1 decision to the York Lions on Saturday, December 30 at Varsity Arena.
 
The Lions opened the scoring as Reid Jackman notched a powerplay marker midway through the first period.
 
York extended their lead to two as Josh Lafrance tallied an unassisted marker 3:42 into the second period.
 
The Blues got on the board late in the second frame as Louis Kereakou set up Aidan Wallace for the goal.
 
Neither team would score again as the game ended in York's favour.
 
Blues netminder Frederic Foulem made 21 saves in the loss.
 
The Blues resume regular season action on Thursday, January 4 as they travel to Guelph, Ont., to take on the Gryphons. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on OUA.tv.
