The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's tennis team claimed OUA silver for the second consecutive season, falling 6-1 in the gold medal match to the No. 1 seeded Montreal Carabins.
Serving as hosts for the 2017 OUA championships at the Mayfair Parkway Club in Markham, Ont., the Varsity Blues battled through several exciting championship finals matches.
In the doubles round, all three pairs of U of T doubles teams took the Carabins to the brink, with the duo of Andrew Bourne-Kaponeridis and Cameron Chiang picking up the lone Varsity Blues win by a final of 8-6.  In the singles matchups, U of T No. 1 Sasha Obucina remained steady, but his victory would prove to be the only point for Toronto. Obucina would be named an OUA all-star with teammate and Blues No. 2 player Felix Fan also receiving the same honours.
