ALBERT EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 2-0 on Friday, October 20 in Brantford, Ont.

Rookie netminder Madeline Albert made 29 saves to earn her second consecutive shut out victory. Toronto topped the York Lions, 7-0, in their season opener last night.

After a scoreless first period, back-to-back goals from veteran forwards Jessica Robichaud and Kassie Roache would be all the Blues would need to secure the victory.

Robichaud opened the scoring at the 14:07 mark of the second period, with Roache scoring just over two minutes later at the 16:28 mark.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, October 27 as they travel to Windsor, Ont., to take on the Lancers. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
