BLUES FALL TO GAELS ON THE ROAD

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team fell 20-5 to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, September 24 at Richardson Stadium in Kingston, Ont.
 
With the loss, the Blues drop to 1-4, while the Gaels improve to 1-3 after Week 5 of OUA football action.

BLUES STATS:
 
Fifth-year Blues quarterback Marcus Hobbs was 19-of-37 for 219 yards, while rushing six times for 35 yards on the day. Veteran receiver Rahul Madan led the Blues with seven receptions for 91 yards, while Kaleb Leach rushed 11 times for 31 yards.
 
Jaiden McBride, a fifth-year defensive back from Toronto, led the Blues with seven tackles, while fourth-year linebacker Brittley Mokube had six tackles, one sack and one forced fumble in the loss.
 
GAME FLOW:
 
The Gaels conceded a safety to put the Blues on the board early in the first quarter and Ethan Shafer hit a 39-yard field goal to give Toronto a 5-0 lead after 15 minutes of action.
 
Fourth-year running back Eric Dodwell scored the first Gaels touchdown in the revitalized Richardson Stadium with a three-yard rushing major late in the season quarter and kicker Nick Liberatore kicked a 34-yard field goal to put the home team up 10-5 at halftime.
 
After a scoreless third quarter, Gaels QB Nate Hobbs, brother of U of T's Marcus Hobbs, hit Peter Hannon with a  six-yard TD pass to give the Gaels a 17-5 lead with 13:24 remaining in the game.
 
Queen's rounded out the scoring with a 44-yard field goal with 4:59 remaining in the game.
 
QUEEN'S STATS
 
Nate Hobbs ended the game 28-of-43 for 351 yards and one touchdown. Jonah Pataki rushed 15 times for 105 yards, while Chris Osei-Kusi led all players with eight receptions for 153 yards.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 1 when they travel to Windsor, Ont., to take on the Lancers. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
