BLUES BLANK WARRIORS ON HOME TURF

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team topped the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 on Saturday, September 24 at Back Campus Fields.
 
With the win, the Blues improve to 3-1 and sit in second place in the OUA standings.
 
Third-year forward and Toronto native Morgan Sleeth opened the scoring in the 25th minute, notching her third goal of the season.
 
Fourth-year forward Megan Johansen of Kelowna, B.C., put the Blues up by two just two minutes later and Toronto held the 2-0 lead at the half.
 
Team co-captain Alison Lee added an insurance marker in the 51st minute to round out the scoring.
 
Sara Fredo earned the shut out victory in net for the Blues.
 
The Blues return to action tomorrow as they host the McGill Martlets at 10:45 a.m. and Queen's Gaels at 4 p.m. at Back Campus Fields.
