The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team opened home-and-home weekend action with a narrow 11-8 loss to the Laurier Golden Hawks Friday (Sept. 16) night in Waterloo.
Opening the contest in a 2-2 stalemate following two goals from CUFLA leading scorer Mitch De Snoo in the first quarter, the Varsity Blues kept within striking distance of the Golden Hawks throughout.
However, U of T would slip up in the second and fourth quarters being outscored 7-4 in those frames allowing Laurier to edge out the tight contest.
De Snoo and 2015 CUFLA outstanding rookie Jason Barnable both finished the game with three goals apiece while AJ Masson and Nick Mashin added individual markers for Toronto.
The Varsity Blues will conclude their home-and-home with the Golden Hawks this Sunday (Sept. 18) at Varsity Stadium. Action begins at 7 p.m.
