BLUES SET TO BATTLE WARRIORS FRIDAY NIGHT

Following an impressive weekend, which saw the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team pick up two huge wins over the Windsor Lancers and Western Mustangs, U of T continues their home stand as they welcome the Waterloo Warriors to Varsity Arena this Friday, November 11.

Advance tickets are on sale here with the game also being streamed live on OUA.tv. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.

The Varsity Blues experienced an offensive explosion this past weekend, scoring six goals in the back-to-back contests to push U of T into sixth place in the OUA with a 4-0-3-0 (W-OTW-L-OTL) record.

Fifth-year forward Taylor Day added another two incredible highlight-reel goals to the record books, while first-years Stephanie Ayres and Jessica Maggioni made history of their own picking up their first career OUA goals.

With everyone chipping in on the offensive side of the rink, second-year goaltender Valencia Yordanov continues to hold down the defensive zone, picking up her third shutout of the season while sitting second in save percentage (.946) and third in goals against average (.150) in the OUA.

U of T will need everyone to keep rolling as they look to leapfrog the Waterloo Warriors who currently sit fourth in the OUA with a 4-1-3-0 record.

Leading the province in powerplay goals (8) the Warriors have found a recipe for success on the man advantage. A trio of forwards in Rachel Marriott, Marissa Redmond and Angela MacDonald lead the team accounting for seven of those goals, while Marriott sits tied for second in OUA scoring with 11 points (4 G, 7 A) on the season.

The Varsity Blues will then end their four-game home stand battling another Waterloo challenger as they take on the Laurier Golden Hawks at Varsity Arena next Friday, November 18. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. with the game also being streamed live on OUA.tv.
