The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team picked up a 12-9 win in their final home game of the season against the Laurentian Voyageurs Saturday night (Oct. 22) at Varsity Stadium.
Conceding the first goal of the game to the Voyageurs, the Blues immediately responded scoring six straight to take a 6-1 lead into the first quarter break.
Following a quiet second, Toronto began to weather a Voyageurs run as Laurnetian cut U of T's lead down to one with 15 minutes remaining in the game.
That's when Jason Barnable, AJ Masson and Alex Emerson all scored crucial goals to maintain the Blues advantage and secure the home finale victory.
Barnable led all Blues on the night with eight points picking up four goals and four assists while Masson wasn't far behind with six points on two goals and four assists..
The Varsity Blues will now hit the road to end their regular season against the Guelph Gryphons tomorrow afternoon (Oct. 23). Action begins at 1 p.m.
