BLUES BLANKED BY RAMS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to the Ryerson Rams in a School Day Game on Thursday, October 20 at Mattamy Athletic Centre.

With the loss, the Blues are 1-1-0 to start the season.

Toronto outshot the Rams 33-20, including 18 shots in the second frame, but were unable to solve second-year netminder Sydney Authier through 60 minutes of action.

Ryerson opened the scoring 42 seconds into the contest with a goal off the stick of Kryshandra Green. The Rams went onto add an insurance mark with 9:43 remaining in the game as Ailish Forfar backhanded the puck into the top corner of the year.

Second-year Blues goalie Hailey Farrelly made 18 saves in the loss.

The Blues return to action this Saturday, October 22 as they host their 2016-17 home opener versus the Guelph Gryphons at Varsity Arena. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here. The game will also be streamed live via OUA.tv.
