TORONTO STIFLES MAC IN BIG WIN

Holding the visiting McMaster Marauders to just one first half goal, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team picked up a big 12-5 win at Varsity Stadium Sunday night (Oct. 2).

Toronto opened the scoring just three minutes into the game with Jason Barnable finishing off a nice passing play from veteran AJ Masson. Masson would play setup man all night long picking up three assists in the contest.

After the Marauders tied things up two minutes later, Owen Farnworth put the Blues back on top. From there U of T would never relinquish the lead as they stifled and frustrated the McMaster attack while building a cushion for goalkeeper Andrew Paton.

CUFLA goals leader Mitch De Snoo led all Blues with four goals on the night adding an assist. Barnable finished the game with three goals and two assists while Farnworth, Justin Morandin, Marc Santos, Benjamin Klar, and Robert Allan all scored one.

The Varsity Blues will now head West on the 401 for a three-game roadtrip beginning Saturday, October 8 in London, Ontario against the 5-1 Western Mustangs. Action begins at 2 p.m.
