BLUES SHUT OUT WARRIORS IN SEASON OPENER

Box Score Second-year netminder Valencia Yordanov made 23 saves in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team to a 2-0 shut out victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Friday, October 14.
 
Sophomore forward Jessica Robichaud notched the eventual game-winner at the 16:56 mark of the first period, burying a rebound off a Jessica Maggioni shot.



 
After a scoreless second period, fifth-year veteran Taylor Day added an insurance marker for the Blues, picking the top corner to beat Warriors netminder Stephanie Sluys.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action next Thursday, October 20 as they head to Ryerson for a School Day Game. The puck drops at 11 a.m.
