BLUES HOST WARRIORS IN HALL OF FAME GAME SATURDAY

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team wraps up their 2016 campaign hosting the Waterloo Warriors this Saturday, October 15 at Varsity Stadium.

The Blues will honour 19 graduating players in a special pre-game ceremony and also celebrate their CIS Hec Creighton Trophy and OUA most valuable player winners at halftime.
 
The Varsity Blues look to end their season on a high note as they have won their last five contests versus the Warriors by an average score of 46-13. Toronto holds a 23-17-2 regular season head-to-head record over Waterloo since their first meeting in 1979.
 
Veteran linebackers Adrian Bernard and Brittley Mokube lead the Blues and rank sixth and eighth in the OUA with 43.5 and 41 total tackles, respectively. Second-year defensive back Richard Gillespie also leads the province with four interceptions this season.
 
Marcus Hobbs ranks fifth among OUA quarterbacks with 1513 yards and has thrown for three majors, while also ranking fourth in the league with four rushing touchdowns.
 
His favourite targets have been Rahul Madan and Anthony Naccarato, who rank fourth and seventh, respectively, with 550 and 496 receiving yards over seven games this season. Leading the Blues on the ground has been third-year running back Alex Malone. The Toronto native sixth in OUA with 478 yards.
 
The Warriors, who look for their first win of the season on Saturday, are led by Luca McConnell at quarterback. He has thrown for 865 yards and four majors this season, three of which were connected with Tyler Ternowski.
 
Waterloo linebacker Kurtis Gray leads the conference, averaging 8.1 tackles per game.
