The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team dropped a narrow 17-14 decision to the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, October 1 in Sudbury, Ont.

Down 6-2 midway through the first quarter, the Blues rallied and notched six unanswered goals. The Voyageurs added three late tallies to take a narrow 9-8 lead into halftime.

Toronto evened the score early in the second half, but Laurentian took the lead for good, outscoring U of T 5-2 in the third quarter.

Down 16-10 midway through the fourth, Toronto brought the game within reach with four late goals, but couldn't complete the comeback.

Veteran attack Mitch De Snoo led the Blues with five goals, while sophomore Jason Barnable tallied four on the day. Justin Morandin scored twice, with AJ Masson, Marc Santos and Owen Farnworth notching single tallies in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow night (Oct. 2) as they host the McMaster Marauders at Varsity Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
