BLUES OH SO CLOSE VERSUS HAWKS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-10 decision to the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday night (Sept. 26) at Varsity Centre.

Laurier got out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Blues battled back as Owen Farnworth, Marc Santos and Jason Barnable scored to bring the game within two (5-3). The Hawks answered back with two more goals, but Farnworth and Barnable added their second of the game and trailed Laurier 8-5.

Laurier went ahead 10-6 after the third quarter but Toronto came charging back, tying the game with four unanswered goals, including two more from Farnworth.
Hawks middie Nick Hehl would spoil the come back though, notching the eventual game-winner with 8:16 to go in the game.

The Blues were coming off a 20-5 loss to the Western Mustangs on Friday night in London. Toronto goal scorers were Mitch de Snoo with two goals, AJ Masson, Marc Santos and Jason Barnable.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, October 2 when they host the Brock Badgers at Varsity Centre. Game time is 8:30 p.m.
