BLUES CAN’T SOLVE LEE IN SHOOTOUT LOSS

Box Score The No. 2 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team dropped a 1-0 shootout decision to the York Lions on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 22) at Canlan Ice Sports.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 5-2-1-2 (W-OTW-L-OTL) and sit fourth in the OUA standings, while the Lions improve to 2-1-5-1 and sit 11th.

Toronto outshot York 41-31 over 60 minutes of regulation and nine minutes of overtime. The Blues best chance to score came off a Taylor Day breakaway in the first overtime period, but her shot rang off the cross bar

York's Dana Somerville and Kristen Barbara scored in the shootout to secure the home team victory.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 27 as they host the Nipissing Lakers at Varsity Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
