BLUES DROP TURKEY BOWL TO MUSTANGS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team dropped a 58-2 decision to the No. 3 Western Mustangs on Thursday, October 8 at Varsity Centre.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 2-4 after Week 7 of OUA football action, while the first-place Mustangs improve to 6-0.

Fourth-year defensive back Jaiden McBride led all players with eight tackles, while JJ Lam had 5.5 tackles, one forced fumble and one break up and Richard Gillespie had 5.5 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Third-year running back Lukas Gavac rushed 13 times for 82 yards and also made two receptions for 35 yards on the night. Fifth-year Blues quarterback Simon Nassar went 13-for-32 for 121 yards, while Boris Isakov made three receptions for 46 yards in the loss.

Mustangs quarterback Will Finch was 26-of-40 for 469 yards and three majors, while Alex Taylor rushed 16 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns. George Johnson leading all players with 171 yards on six receptions and one touchdown in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 17 as they head to Waterloo to battle the Warriors. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
