The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team fell 13-5 and 14-8 in a home-and-home series with the Brock Badgers this past weekend.
Toronto hosted the Badgers Friday night at Varsity Centre, falling 13-5.
Tied 2-2 after the first quarter, the Badgers scored three unanswered goals in the second to take a 5-2 lead at halftime. Brock went onto take the game with four goals in each of the third and fourth quarters.
U of T was led by Mitch de Snoo, who scored three goals, while Jason Barnable had two goals. Marc Santos and John Browne each added a single tally in the loss.
The Blues then travelled to St. Catharines, Ont., on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 14-8 decision to the Badgers.
Brock led, 6-3, at halftime, but the Blues shut them down in the third quarter, bringing the game within one (6-5) heading into the final frame. The Badgers bounced back, however, with seven unanswered goals to take the lead for good.
De Snoo and Barnable led the Blues with three goals apiece, while Santos and Browne each scored once in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, October 9 as they travel to Guelph, Ont., to take on the Gryphons. Â
