STRONG FIRST HALF LEADS BLUES OVER EXCALIBUR

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team defeated the Trent Excalibur 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in Peterborough, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 7-2-1 and remain in second place in the OUA East division.

With Trent leading 1-0 in the first 10 minutes of the contest, Blues striker Nirun Sivananthan evened the score in the 17th minute, notching his sixth goal of the season.

Team co-captain Lukas McNaughton scored the eventual game-winner in the 37th minute, only to be followed by an insurance marker from rookie Jack Wadden in the 39th minute.

Veteran goalkeeper Ran Bruce-Lockhart made six saves in the victory.

The Varsity Blues are back at it tomorrow night as they travel to Oshawa to take on the UOIT Ridgebacks. Game time is set for 8:30 p.m.
