WOMEN'S HOCKEY THINKS PINK THIS SUNDAY

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team returns home after two weeks on the road as they host the Laurier Golden Hawks and the Waterloo Warriors this Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 24-25) at Varsity Arena.

Saturday's game versus Laurier is set to begin at 4 p.m., while Sunday's matchup, which will mark U of T's eighth annual Think Pink game, is scheduled for 2 p.m.

All chuck-a-puck proceeds will go towards the campaign, while donations are also welcome at the arena entrance.

Advanced tickets are on sale here. Both games will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.

The Varsity Blues are 11-3-3 and tied for fourth in the OUA standings, only one point out of third and two from second.

Veteran forward Sonja Weidenfelder leads the Blues with seven goals, while teammate Kristi Riseley has tallied a team-high 13 points in 17 games so far this season.

Fifth-year netminder and team captain Nicole Kesteris has started all but one game and holds a .938 save percentage, putting her fourth in the OUA rankings.

The fifth place Golden Hawks are 10-4-3 in the OUA this season. The Blues will be out for revenge after dropping last year's OUA semi-final series 2-1 to the Hawks; however, Toronto did take Game 1 of the season series 2-1 in a shootout in Waterloo.

Fifth-year Laura Brooker leads the squad with nine goals and nine assists for 18 points, while Jessie Hurrell has scored seven goals in 15 games.

Laurier netminder Amanda Smith ranks just under Kesteris, fifth in the province with a .934 save percentage.

The Waterloo Warriors are in eighth place with an 8-6-3 record. Second-year forward Rachel Marriott tops the team with eight goals, while Marissa Redmond leads the squad with 12 points so far this year.

Rebecca Bouwhuis and Stephanie Sluys split duties between the pipes, holding .905 and .941 save percentages, respectively.
