The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team decisively defeated the Laurentian Voyageurs 17-9 on Saturday evening (Sept. 27) at Varsity Centre.
Recent NLL draft pick, Jordan Robertson (Toronto, Ont.) led the Blues offence with six goals and one assist in the contest, which places him third overall in CUFLA scoring.Â
The first three quarters were all Toronto, as the Blues notched 17 goals to Laurentian's five. Along with Robertson, the bulk of U of T's scoring came from Michael Buwalda (Toronto, Ont.), who had five goals. AJ Masson (Newmarket, Ont.) added two goals, and singles came from Jordan Tingle (Toronto, Ont.), Marc Santos (Toronto, Ont.), Nicholas Lang (Ottawa, Ont.), and Connor Daly (Mimico, Ont.).
The Voyageurs made a late surge, notching four goals in the fourth quarter, but Toronto was able to hold them off for the win.Â
The win places the Varsity Blues third overall in the CUFLA West standings. Toronto looks to carry on their streak on Friday, October 3 when they travel to London, Ontario to take on the Western Mustangs.
