BLUES DROP GAME 1 AT LAURIER

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team fell 4-1 in Game 1 of a best-of-three OUA semi-final series versus the Laurier Golden Hawks on Wednesday night (Feb. 19) in Waterloo, Ont.

The Blues return home to host Game 2 on Friday night (Feb. 21) at Varsity Arena. Game 3, if necessary, is back in waterloo on Sunday, February 23. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Laurier forward Devon Skeats notched a hatrick in the win.

The Hawks opened the scoring 13:04 into the second period and extended their lead with back-to-back goals three minutes apart early in the third.

Second-year forward Taylor Day got the Blues on the board 7:52 into the third, but Skeats completed the three-goal performance with an empty-netter with 1:05 remaining to seal the win.
