The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's water polo team defeated the University of Ottawa Gee Gees 6-5, and the Queen's Gaels 17-7 on Day 1 of the Queen's Invitational (Nov 1).
Emily Bidinosti and Ali Kraft both had two goals for the Blues, while Danielle Hirsh and Marianna Tout added one each in their win over the Gee Gees.
Bidnosti led the Blues again in their match versus Queen's with an impressive seven goals. Kraft scored three, while Ana Miroslavic, Stefanie Chapman, and Hirsh notched two apiece and Rachel Twiss added one.
Toronto continued to dominate on Day 2 with a 13-8 win over the McMaster Marauders, and an 11-4 win over the Carleton Ravens.
Danielle Hirsh scored the hat trick for the Blues in their win over the Marauders, while Bidinosti, Miroslavic, Tout, and Jule Szpara all had two, and Kraft and Sydney MacDougall each had one.
Bidinosti led the offence for the Blues in their win over the Ravens, notching three goals. Tout and Miroslavic added two, while MacDougall, Hirsh, Szpara, and Olga Bednarek all had one.
The Varsity Blues travel to Brooklyn, NY on Friday, November 14 to face St. Francis College Brooklyn in an exhibition match up.
