BLUES LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK AT HOME THIS WEEKEND

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team hosts the Laurentian Voyageurs and Nipissing Lakers this Friday and Saturday night (Nov. 21-22) at Varsity Arena.

The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on both days. Advance tickets are on sale here.

Toronto is coming off a 0-1-1 weekend and are 5-3-1 in a three-way tie for seventh place in the OUA standings. Only five points separate second to eighth, making every game count as the Blues look to climb the ladder before the December exam break.

Third-year forward and Pickering, Ont., native Kristi Riseley leads the Blues and ranks sixth in the OUA with three goals and eight assists for 11 points in nine games.

Toronto native Sonja Weidenfelder has tallied a team-high five goals, while assistant captain Stacey Oue leads U of T's defensive corps with five assists.

Fifth-year goalie Nicole Kesteris has started 8-of-9 games and holds a .914 save percentage, while sophomore Katey Teekasingh, who started her first game on Sunday versus Windsor, holds a .906 percentage.

The Laurentian Voyageurs are 1-6-3 and in 12th place in the OUA. Their lone win came on November 2 as they upset the Queen's Gaels, 2-1 in a shootout, in Sudbury.

Julie Hebert leads the team with four goals and two assists in 10 games. Emily Toffoli and Laura Deller have split duties between the pipes, holding  .899 and .912 save percentages, respectively.

The Nipissing Lakers are 5-4-1 and in 10th in the standings. They are riding a three-game win streak, having beaten Queen's, Laurentian and York in the month of November.

First-year forward Kaley Tienhaara leads the squad with two goals and eight assists for 10 points, while fellow rookie Samantha Strassburger has notched four goals and four assists so far this season.
