Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team fell 3-1 to the York Lions on Sunday, November 16 at Tait McKenzie Centre.
With the loss the Blues drop to 2-5 and sit in ninth place, while the Lions improve to 3-3 and move into a tie for sixth in the competitive OUA standings.
First-year left side hitter Thomas Meier of Winnipeg led Toronto with 17 kills on the day, while Nate Virgo added 11 kills and four blocks and Kyle Fick had 10 kills and five digs.
Fifth-year setter Michael Denton notched 44 assists, eight digs and three blocks, while Jake Dysselhof recorded eight kills and four digs in the loss.
Josh Henderson led the Lions with a game-high 22 kills and 10 digs, while Ray Szeto tallied 18 kills and five digs and Marko Dakic had 11 kills in the victory.
The Varsity Blues return to the court next Saturday, November 22 as they head to Waterloo to take on the Warriors. Game time is set for 2 p.m.Â
