WOMEN’S HOCKEY BACK HOME THIS WEEKEND

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team returns home after a four-game road stretch as they host the Western Mustangs and Windsor Lancers this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 15-16) afternoon at Varsity Arena.

Saturday's game versus Western is set to begin at 4 p.m., with Sunday's tilt scheduled for 2 p.m. Advanced tickets are on sale here.

The Varsity Blues are 5-2-0 and tied for seventh in the OUA standings, but sit a mere five points back of first with a game in hand.

Third-year forward Kristi Riseley leads the Blues with eight points, while veteran Sonja Weidenfelder has tallied a team-high four goals in seven games so far this season.

Fifth-year netminder and 2014 CIS all-Canadian Nicole Kesteris has started all seven games and holds a .913 save percentage.

The No. 9 Western Mustangs are 7-0-1 and in first place in the OUA. They will be out for revenge after the Blues ended their 2013-14 campaign with a 2-1 OUA quarter-final series win last February.

Cassidy Gosling leads the squad with four goals and four assists for eight points, while Kendra Broad has scored five goals in eight games.

Western netminder Kelly Campbell ranks third in the province with a .955 save percentage.

The Windsor Lancers are in third place with a 6-1-1 record. First-year forward Krystin Lawrence tops the team with eight points, with Candice Chevalier notching five goals so far this year.

Second-year goalie Marissa Kozovski holds a .926 save percentage in eight games.
