BLUES TO FACE GRYPHONS IN CUFLA PLAYOFFS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 12-3 Friday evening (Oct 24) at Varsity Stadium. On Saturday (Oct 25), the Blues fell to CUFLA West number one seed, Brock Badgers 21-11.

Jordan Robertson had a team leading five goals in the win against Laurier, while Michael Buwalda notched four goals and one assist. Secondary scoring came from Mike McKegney and John Browne, with assists coming from Corey Wright and Marc Santos.

On Saturday, Buwalda led the Blues with five goals and one assist, while Brandon Staal had a game high 11 points for the Badgers. This was the Blues final game of the CUFLA regular season. 

The Blues head into playoffs in fourth place and will take on the third place Guelph Gryphons. The top six teams in the west will compete against each other, and the remaining three will meet the remaining three teams from the east in the 2014 Baggataway Cup in Oshawa, Ontario from October 31 - November 2, 2014.
