BLUES SPLIT WEEKEND VS LAKERS, BADGERS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team defeated the Nipissing Lakers 15-13 on Friday, October 17 at Varsity Stadium.

The Blues dominated the play early, and led 14-9 heading into the fourth quarter. A late surge from Nipissing closed the gap, but the Blues came out on top. 

Jordan Robertson had seven points in the match, while Michael Buwalda tallied six, and Jordan Tingle notched four. Nipissing was led by Zach Kozlowski, who put up seven points for the Lakers in the loss. 

On Sunday, the Blues travelled to St. Catherine's, Ontario to face the Brock Badgers. The Badgers, with the home turf advantage won the match 19-5. 

Buwalda led the Blues with two goals, while Mark Debrone had four goals and four assists for the Badgers, and Greg Davidson added six goals and one assist for the home team.

The Blues currently sit in fourth place in the CUFLA West division with a 5-5 record.

The Varsity Blues return to action on Friday, October 24 as they host the Laurier Golden Hawks at Varsity Stadium. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
