Fresh off a 2-0 season-opening victory over the Ryerson Rams, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team hosts the Guelph Gryphons and Brock Badgers this weekend (Oct. 18-19) at Varsity Arena.
Saturday's tilt versus the Gryphons is slated for 4 p.m., while Sunday's game versus Brock begins at 2 p.m., and will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.
Fifth-year netminder Nicole Kesteris earned the shut out in goal, posting 14 saves versus Ryerson. Sonja Weidenfelder and Alie Brind'Amour-McClure each scored on the powerplay in the win.
The Gryphons are also 1-0-0 after a 3-1 season opening victory over the York Lions. Guelph also takes on Ryerson on Wednesday night.
The Brock Badgers dropped their season opener, 4-1, to the Lions last Sunday and take on the Rams on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
After this weekend, the Blues go on a four-game road stretch, not returning home until November 15 when they host the Western Mustangs.Â
