The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team defeated the UOIT Ridgebacks 10-4 on Sunday, September 22 in Hamilton, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 3-1 on the season.

Veteran Taryn Grieder (Cobourg, Ont.) led the Blues with four goals and one assist, while OUA female athlete of the week and rookie Sarah Jamieson (Etobicoke) had three goals and one assist on the day.

Fifth-year attacker Larissa Boychuk of Mississauga, Ont., chipped in with two goals and one assist, while Carly Heitzner (Orillia) addd a single tally and helper in the win.

Toronto led 4-2 at halftime and exploded with four goals in four minutes midway through the second half.

The Varsity Blues meet the Ridgebacks again next Saturday, September 28 in Peterborough, Ont. Game time is set for 8 a.m.
