BLUES LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK IN WINDSOR

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team is back on the road this Saturday, September 21 as they take on the Windsor Lancers under the lights at Alumni Field.

The game will be streamed live and live stats will be available at varsityblues.ca. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.

The Blues (1-3) are coming off a tough 38-12 loss to the No. 7 Guelph Gryphons (3-0), while the Lancers (2-2) will are riding high after a 44-14 victory over the Carleton Ravens this past Saturday.

The Lancers defeated the Blues for the ninth consecutive time with a 55-4 win in their 2012 meeting. The two teams are even with a 20-20-0 head-to-head record, dating back to their first meeting in 1973. U of T last defeated Windsor, 13-11, on Oct. 13, 2001.

"Windsor is always a tough place to play but we are looking forward to the challenge," said Varsity Blues bench boss Greg Gary. "We've put Guelph behind us and are taking the appropriate steps to prepare for Saturday night."
Toronto is without second-year pivot Chris Jugovic, who left Saturday's game just before halftime with an upper body injury, and will rely on third-year QB and Toronto native Simon Nassar to step in and make an impact.

Third-year linebacker Dylan Gordon of Cambridge, Ont., leads U of T and ranks fifth in the province with 26.5 tackles, while veteran Harrison Beeforth sits second in the OUA with four sacks in four games.

Fourth-year veteran Austin Kennedy leads the Lancers and has averaged 314.5 passing and 80 rushing yards per game. Evan Pszczonak ranks second among OUA receivers, averaging 110 receiving yards per contest.

Veteran linebacker Akeem Whonder tops Windsor's defensive corps with 27 tackles so far in 2013.

The Varsity Blues return home the following Friday, September 27 as NFL Canada's On Campus Experience takes over Varsity Centre when the Blues do battle with the Carleton Ravens at 7 p.m.
