The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team opened their 2013 season with a 7-0 victory over the UOIT Ridgebacks on Friday, September 13 in Oshawa.

The Blues No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairs defeated UOIT 8-2, before Toronto's No. 1 duo of Pauline Gaprielian and Shreya Nayak squeezed out an 8-6 victory.

Toronto took all six singles matches, with both Pauline Gaprielian and Emily Kelsey overcoming a one-set deficit in the No. 1 and 3 positions to help Toronto earn the shut out.

The Varsity Blues return to action on Saturday, September 14 as they take on the McGill Martlets at UTSC. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
