Box Score The Varsity Blues women’s basketball team fell 71-47 to the Carleton Ravens in OUA East semi-final action on Saturday night (Feb. 23) at the Ravens Nest.
The Ravens got out to a 24-10 lead after the first quarter and did not look back en route to the East final berth.
Third-year standout Rachael Sider (New Westminster, B.C.) led the Blues with 12 points, and four steals, while veteran forward Alicia Van Kampen also notched 12 points and four boards in the loss.
Etobicoke, Ont., native Jill Stratton added 10 points and five boards, while fellow guard Jasmine Lewin had a team-high six boards on the night.
Carleton built a 38-26 advantage at halftime and cushioned their lead to 19 points (53-34) heading into the fourth quarter.
Alyson Bush led the Ravens with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Lindsay Shotbolt had 11 points, four boards and four steals in the win.
