The Blues took the first game of season series 2-1 in a shoot out, while the Gryphons edged Toronto 3-2 in regulation two weeks ago in Guelph.
Guelph is currently 11-3-2 and in third place, while Toronto is 9-5-1 and in sixth; however, only five points separate the two teams and the Blues hold a game in hand over the No. 9 nationally ranked Gryphons.
U of T wraps up the first half of the season at UOIT on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
Fourth-year forward and team captain Kelly O’Hanlon (Markham, Ont.) ranks third in the province with 11 goals in 15 games. Forwards Sonja Weidenfleder, Amanda Ricker and Taylor Day each had 11 points so far this season.
Second-year goaltender and Regina native Krista Funke sits second in the CIS with a 0.947 save percentage, while Nicole Kesteris holds a 0.927 percentage in eight games played.
The Gryphons are led by rookie forward Amanda Parkins, who leads the OUA with 13 goals and 14 assists. Christine Grant and Jessica Pinkerton also have 20 and 23 points, respectively, this season.
