The Varsity Blues men’s rugby team fell 38-5 to the Waterloo Warriors in their 2011 season opener on Wednesday, September 7 in Waterloo, Ont.
Second-year political science major Mohammed Nader scored Toronto’s lone try of the game.
Waterloo’s Matteo Schwartzentruber led all players with two tries, while Jake Heimpel, Tyler Haladuick, Alex Brouse and Ian Blackie added five points apiece. Zach Bogdon and Richard Lebel rounded out the scoring with one and three converts, respectively.
The Varsity Blues return to the field this Saturday, September 10 as they travel to Kingston, Ont., to take on the Queen’s Gaels. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
