The Varsity Blues women’s tennis team defeated the McMaster Marauders 6-1 before falling 6-1 to the Western Mustangs in tennis action this weekend (Sept. 24-25).
The Blues are now 3-2 on the season.
At U of T’s Scarborough Campus on Sunday, Vaughan, Ont. native Aya Bara defeated Western’s Chantal Forristal in single’s action to give the Blues their only point of the match. Bara came from behind to win 3-6, 7-6, 11-9 in the number one spot.
The Mustangs won five singles matches, and added a point in doubles play to earn a combined score of six points. Western’s Meaghan Gutelius won in both singles and doubles play to lead the Mustangs to victory.

The Blues return to action on Saturday, October 1 when they host the Université de Montréal at U of T’s Scarborough Campus. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm.
